Michael Drummond Obituary, Death; – A 34-year-old man from Peoria was fatally shot multiple times on Monday evening in South Peoria.
Michael Drummond was declared deceased at 9:47 p.m. at OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center, as reported by Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. The incident occurred in the 2400 block of West Howett Street, where he sustained several gunshot wounds.
According to the Peoria Police Department, a ShotSpotter alert was received at 8:53 p.m., indicating that six shots had been fired in the area. Subsequent alerts indicated that an additional seven shots were discharged at the same location.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Drummond on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. The coroner noted that he was unresponsive and not breathing. Despite the prompt and vigorous efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed shortly after reaching OSF. The coroner confirmed that Drummond died instantly due to the gunshot wounds. Toxicology results are pending, as required by Illinois state law.
