Cyra C Magby Obituary, Death;- A man has been apprehended in connection with the murder of a 19-year-old woman on the South Side, according to Chicago police. The incident, a drive-by shooting, occurred on June 11, 2024, at approximately 11:01 p.m. in the 800-block of Garfield Boulevard, located in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Authorities reported that three 19-year-old women were inside a Chevy Malibu when a silver SUV approached and opened fire on them. The driver, identified as Cyra C. Magby, succumbed to her injuries after being shot, while the other two women in the vehicle were unharmed.
On March 3, 2025, Elijah Stiffened, a 20-year-old resident of Chicago, was taken into custody and faces charges of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder. Stiffened was arrested in the 2700 block of S. California Avenue and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
