PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The weather was gorgeous just before the parade for the Leprechaun Loop. The Annual Parade Day 5K Run and One-Mile Walk takes participants throughout the streets of Downtown Pittston.
This is the ninth year they have held the running and walking event that features what many consider a challenging course.
“It’s very hilly. You have to be really, really in shape to run the course, but it’s a challenge, and people enjoy a challenge,” said Pittston walker Michael Ferrara.
“It’s just a nice day to come out to do it. It’s a great cause, and it’s fun to be here,” said Michael Wojnarski, a runner from Mehoopany.
Proceeds from the Leprechaun Loop benefit Allied Services Pediatric Programs.
