Emergency responders rushed to a deadly single-car accident on I-91 North on Saturday afternoon.
The crash took place near mile marker 19, between Holyoke and Northampton.
Upon arriving at the scene, first responders found the vehicle’s only occupant, identified as 21-year-old Madeline Nowak from Springfield, had not survived the crash.
The Massachusetts State Police confirmed Nowak’s identity on Monday. Authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, but no additional details have been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
