Fatal Kansas City shooting death of Diego Lopez-Hernandez – Obituary
Diego Lopez-Hernandez, a 19-year-old from Kansas City, was fatally shot early Tuesday morning and later died at a local hospital, according to police.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3700 block of St. John Avenue just after 2 a.m. but did not find any victims at the scene. While speaking with bystanders, police were informed that a shooting victim, later identified as Lopez-Hernandez, had arrived at a hospital in a private vehicle. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Further investigation indicated the shooting may have taken place near Sunrise Drive and Cliff Drive Place. Despite efforts to save him, Lopez-Hernandez was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after 6 a.m.
Authorities have not yet identified any suspects or determined what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
