Fatal Pittsburgh shooting death of Dameon Hill and Taquaila Daniels – Obituary
Two individuals, Dameon Hill, 35, and Taquaila Daniels, 24, were tragically found dead following a shooting and car crash in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood on the evening of February 26, 2025. Police received a call around 8 p.m. reporting a crash involving a car that collided with a parked SUV on Dearborn Street. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Hill’s lifeless body in the passenger seat of the vehicle and Daniels’ body outside the driver’s door. Both had been shot in the back of the head.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner confirmed the victims’ identities. A two-year-old child, unharmed, was found seated in a car seat inside the vehicle and was subsequently taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital.
Investigators believe that the shooter was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting and later fled the scene. Shell casings were recovered from the vehicle, and police are following leads on a man seen leaving the area. No additional injuries were reported, and no homes were damaged during the incident.
Witnesses reported seeing a person running away from the scene after the crash. One neighbor, William Palmer, described seeing someone emerge from the vehicle and flee toward North Pacific Avenue. He immediately called 911, and his video footage of the aftermath was shared with authorities.
The investigation is ongoing, with no arrests made as of yet. The community remains uneasy, and neighbors suspect the shooter may have been connected to the victims.
