In a heartbreaking incident on the evening of February 26, 2025, Louisiana State University (LSU) freshman pole vaulter Dillon Reidenauer lost her life in a fatal crash on the university’s campus. The accident occurred at the intersection of Nicholson Drive and South Quad Drive, claiming the lives of both Reidenauer and motorcyclist Bodhi Linton.
According to reports, the collision happened when a motorcycle traveling north on Nicholson Drive collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto South Quad Drive. The impact resulted in a fire that engulfed both vehicles. Emergency responders, including LSU Police and firefighters, arrived promptly, but both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. Sources indicate that the drivers likely lost consciousness immediately upon impact.
Dillon Reidenauer, 18, hailed from Abita Springs, Louisiana, and was a graduate of Fontainebleau High School. She was recognized as one of the state’s top pole vaulters, securing second place at the LHSAA State Championships with a clearance of 3.64 meters (11 feet, 11.25 inches) during her high school career. Her personal best was a clearance of 3.81 meters (12 feet, 6 inches). Reidenauer’s exceptional talent earned her a spot on the LSU Track & Field team, where she continued to excel in her sport.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Reidenauer was pursuing a degree in interior design at LSU. Her dedication to both academics and athletics made her a respected member of the university community.
