Benjamin Raymond Obituary, Death; – The Albuquerque Police Department has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life during an encounter with law enforcement on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Benjamin Raymond, who was the subject of an arrest attempt on February 23 following allegations of domestic violence at his residence, situated at 11600 Mountain Rd., NE. Raymond fled from the officers who were trying to detain him, and during the pursuit, he was armed with a handgun. Officers subsequently discharged their weapons, resulting in his death. Raymond had a prior criminal record, including multiple charges ranging from firearm possession to aggravated burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
The Albuquerque Police Department will continue to investigate this incident over the coming months, interviewing any new witnesses who may come forward and completing necessary forensic examinations.
