SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three people are facing charges after police believe they plotted a robbery with a fake prostitution scheme.
According to the Sunbury Police Department, offices were called to the 500 block of Susquehanna Avenue for a man reporting an armed robbery. The victim told police that two men robbed him at gunpoint and took $15,000 from him, police stated.
Investigators said they learned the victim was talking to a woman, Verinique Koteita, 30, of Sunbury, on Facebook and the victim agreed to help Koteita with money if she agreed to “sexual acts” with him in exchange.
The two met up at a park and then walked to the residence on Susquehanna Avenue. Once inside two men, later identified as Wilbert Turner, 31, and Henry Morales-Serano, 42, approached them, and the victim was instructed to leave, the criminal complaint reports.
As stated in the affidavit, when the victim tried to leave with an envelope that he had with him, filled with cash, Morales-Serano was reported to have taken it from him. The victim tried to argue to get his money back however Turner pointed a gun at him and the victim fled, police said.
A search warrant executed on the house found $11,958 of cash placed in a hamster cage and $2,950 that Truenr had in his hands and pockets. As a result of the investigation, detectives believe the suspects plotted the robbery with Koteita arranging it while Truner and Morales-Serano stole the cash.
All three have been charged with robbery and other related offenses.
