Lipscomb Double Fatal Shooting; 18-Year-Old Bessemer Teenager Victim Named in Shooting at Lipscomb Double Shooting
18-year-old killed in Lipscomb double shooting.
A Bessemer teen was killed in an overnight double shooting in Lipscomb.
The victim was 18 years old, but his name is being withheld pending notification of family, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The shooting happened at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Crescent Avenue.
The victim was taken to UAB Medical West where he was pronounced dead at 1:20 a.m. Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said a second person was wounded in the shooting.
The second person is reportedly a female. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
This is the first homicide in Lipscomb in 2025. In all of Jefferson County, there have been 26 homicides so far this year.
