On February 16, 2025, the world lost a beloved soul, Kris Hacopian. He was a cherished son, brother, cousin, grandchild, nephew, and a dear friend to many. His presence was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kris’s personality was larger than life, and his heart was full of unwavering kindness. He had an innate ability to connect with others, always willing to lend a helping hand, regardless of the circumstances.
Whether it was offering words of encouragement, volunteering his time, or simply being there for someone in need, Kris never hesitated to go the extra mile. His selflessness was a true testament to his character, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.
From a young age, Kris embodied the qualities of leadership, compassion, and service. At just seven years old, he joined the Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter as a Cub Scout “Guylik.”
His dedication to scouting was evident as he rose through the ranks, ultimately becoming an Assistant Scoutmaster, or “Pokh Khembaped.” Leading Troop 155B ‘Ari 5’ was not just a responsibility to Kris; it was a calling.
He took great pride in mentoring the younger scouts, teaching them the values of integrity, perseverance, and community. His influence helped shape the next generation of young leaders, instilling in them the same love for scouting that he carried in his heart.
Through every campfire, every hike, and every lesson he shared, Kris left an indelible mark on the scouting community. Beyond his role in scouting, Kris was deeply rooted in his faith.
He was an active member of the Difference Makers Bible Study Group, where his presence was nothing short of inspiring. Those who knew him within this faith-based community described him as “a bright light who radiated God’s joy to everyone around him.”
Kris lived his faith through his actions, always embodying love, kindness, and humility. His devotion to God and his commitment to spreading positivity were evident in everything he did.
Whether through heartfelt conversations, acts of service, or the genuine warmth of his smile, Kris made a lasting impression on those around him. His faith was the foundation upon which he built his life, and his unwavering belief in God’s love was a guiding force for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kris’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched, from his family and friends to the scouts he mentored and the faith community he inspired.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the impact he made was immeasurable. The stories shared about him, the laughter he brought, and the kindness he exuded will continue to be a source of comfort and joy for those who loved him.
While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who had the honor of calling him a son, a brother, a mentor, and a friend.
