(WBRE/WYOU) — The FBI is searching for information on a man who is accused of impersonating an agent to target international students.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is looking for the man pictured in connection with an ongoing fraud scheme targeting Chinese international students at United States universities.
The man has allegedly posed as law enforcement to scam and defraud multiple Chinese nationals who are students based in the United States.
The FBI states the scammer tells students that they are wanted for a crime in China and that the students must wire money to avoid arrest and extradition.
The suspect is accused of participating in the scheme as recently as January of 2025.
