Omaha police have identified the Fremont woman who lost her life in a crash on West Dodge Road amid snowy conditions on Monday.
According to investigators, a 60-year-old man was driving a 1996 Chevrolet K1500 pickup eastbound on West Dodge Road when the vehicle lost control, veered off the roadway, and spun out.
The truck collided with a guardrail near the Skyline Drive bridge, causing it to overturn, Omaha police reported.
The front-seat passenger, 60-year-old Louise Field, was partially ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the driver, identified as Melvin Field, along with a front middle-seat passenger, believed to be their 10-year-old grandson, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Bergan Mercy for medical treatment.
Officials noted that the hazardous road conditions played a significant role in the crash.
