TEXARKANA, Texas (KETK) — Texarkana officials are seeking the public’s help after three people were injured in a drive-by shooting on Friday afternoon.
The Texarkana Police Department said officers were dispatched at around 3 p.m. to the 100 block of Jack Street after receiving multiple 911 calls of shots fired. When officers arrived, they learned that one person was already taken to the hospital.
Shortly after, two teenage boys reportedly arrived at the emergency room with non-life threatening injuries, one with a gunshot wound to the leg and another to the foot.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle drove by and began shooting at the boys while they were in the roadway, the police department said. Detectives and crime scene technicians are at the scene as part of the investigation.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Texarkana Police Department at 903-798-3116 or reach out to the Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
