Cody M Burrow Obituary, Death; – Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is releasing more information after a driver was killed after a chase Thursday night. At approximately 5:38 p.m., deputies attempted to stop Cody M. Burrow of Bradenton who had an active felony warrant for narcotics.
During the attempted felony traffic stop in the area of Beneva Road and Webber Road, Burrow crashed his vehicle, a grey Ford F-150, into a Tesla and multiple deputies’ vehicles resulting in injuries to a deputy. He then fled, driving northbound on Beneva Road.
At approximately 5:47 p.m., deputies were alerted to a traffic crash in the area of Lockwood Ridge Road and 53rd Street, which is approximately six miles from the attempted traffic stop.
On arrival, deputies located the grey Ford F-150 which had crashed into a utility pole. The driver, identified as Burrow, was alone in the vehicle and did not survive the crash.
The injured deputy was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for the injuries he sustained during the attempted traffic stop. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal traffic crash.
