HEMPHILL, Texas (KETK)- In memory of the 22nd anniversary of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, the ‘Remembering Columbia’ museum will be offering free admission on Saturday.
The 3400-square-foot museum, which is located at 375 Sabine Street in Hemphill, will be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1.
The museum, which opened in February 2011, is designed to remember those who tragically lost their lives in the tragic 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
At 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, they’ll have a solemn observance where they’ll have a moment of silence before reading the fallen Columbia astronaut’s names aloud. Then they’ll have a presentation from retired NASA business manager Herb Baker.
