(PINPOINT WEATHER) — After a mostly dry and spring-like Friday afternoon, the rain moved in and made it a wet Friday night! A couple thunderstorms can’t be ruled out, but the good news is that we’re not concerned about severe weather.
This is needed rain, too, with Moderate drought conditions in place over a big part of our region.

Most of the rain is out of here by around midnight, save for a few lingering showers, especially in the mountains. February begins on Saturday with more sunshine and highs in the 60s.
Groundhog Day Sunday is a different story: Moisture returns with more clouds, along with a cool east wind. This will bring temperatures down to the cooler side again, with upper-40s to mid-50s around the region. A “cool wedge” setup that we often talk about in our part of the Carolinas.
But if you prefer the warmth, it’s coming back next week. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s Monday through Friday. We’ll get another chance of rain by mid-week.
Tonight: Lingering rain moves east by 1 a.m. or so. Low 45.
Saturday: Mostly sunny. High 65.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy and cooler. 40/52.
