MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 38-year-old man has been charged after a hit-and-run that left a man critically injured, according to the Monroe Police Department.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, officers arrested Lazaurus Cunningham and charged him with felony hit-and-run causing serious injury or death.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, in the 2200 block of W. Roosevelt Road. Police say a vehicle hit the man and fled the scene. He was taken to a local hospital and is still in critical condition.
Officials say Cunningham was booked into the Union County Detention Center and has since been released.
