MALAKOFF, Texas (KETK) – The superintendent of Malakoff ISD has officially retired from their role leading the district.
At their meeting on Thursday, the Malakoff ISD School Board thanked superintendent Don Layton for his time with the district and wished him well in his retirement.

“The MISD Board said thank you and farewell to MISD Superintendent Don Layton, wishing him good luck and happy fishing in this next stage of his life. Thank you Mr. Layton for all of your service to MISD and remember, Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger!”

Malakoff ISD’s website said Dr. Patrick Winters has been named as the district’s acting superintendent until a permanent replacement can be confirmed.
