GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Krispy Kreme fans in nine cities can enjoy some new treats as part of the company’s menu expansion test.
The products — all doughnuts, of course — are either returning to the Krispy Kreme menu, were requested by fans on social media, or are “trending new flavors,” the company said in a press release.
The lucky test markets, according to Krispy Kreme, are Atlanta; Greenville, South Carolina; Louisville, Kentucky; Charlottesville, Richmond, and Norfolk, Virginia; and Greensboro, Charlotte, and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Krispy Kreme locations in these cities will see either five or nine of the doughnuts listed below, a company spokesperson confirmed to Nexstar.
Those flavors are:
- New York Cheesecake: An unglazed doughnut, filled with cheesecake-flavored Kreme, dipped in white icing and topped with graham crunch topping
- Oreo Cookies and Kreme: An Oreo cookie-topped unglazed doughnut with Kreme filling, dipped in Oreo cookie pieces, then drizzled with white icing.
- Cinnamon Swirl: An unglazed doughnut that has been tossed in cinnamon sugar and topped with cream cheese icing.
- Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme: An unglazed doughnut, filled with Biscoff Cookie Butter flavored Kreme, then dipped in Biscoff cookie butter and cookie pieces, then drizzled with white icing.
- Original Glazed Cake: An Original Glazed but as an old-fashioned cake doughnut.
- Cinnamon Apple Filled: An unglazed doughnut that has been tossed in a sweet, powdered cinnamon coating and filled with apple cinnamon filling.
- Maple Iced: An Original Glazed doughnut that is dipped in maple icing.
- Black & White Chocolate Chip: An Original Glazed doughnut dipped in white icing before being topped with chocolate icing drizzles and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Chocolate Caramel Kreme: An unglazed doughnut, dipped in chocolate icing, topped with a swirl of caramel-flavored icing, and filled with Chocolate Caramel-flavored Kreme.
“We love bringing our fans more flavors that they love. These delicious new doughnut varieties have been heavily requested, and we can’t wait to see our fans’ reaction,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief growth officer, said in the release. “We’re always coming up with new ideas. This test will assure that these new flavors are exactly the right additions to our line-up of fresh, melt-in-your-mouth doughnuts.”
As of Monday morning, online menus for Krispy Kreme locations in Atlanta (Evans Street), Greenville (Pleasantburg Drive and Woodruff Road), and Louisville (Seventh Street Road, Bardstown Road, and Shelbyville Road) had five of the new flavors — New York Cheesecake, Oreo Cookies & Kreme, Cinnamon Swirl, Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme, and Original Glazed Cake.
The test markets mentioned above in Virginia and North Carolina had all nine.
The new doughnuts are available individually and by the dozen for purchase online in participating locations.
