CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Outbound lanes of East Independence Blvd. in east Charlotte are closed after a crash that injured two people, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, Medic said they were responding to a crash at E. Independence near Coliseum Drive. They reported two people were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to NCDOT’s traffic map, the road is closed right outside Bojangles Coliseum.
It is unclear what led to the crash or if any charges will be filed.
CMPD says drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
