CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 18-year-old and a minor are facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting off Brookshire Boulevard, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police.
Officials say a shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the 5600 block of Brookshire, near Oakdale Road. Paramedics pronounced the victim, 19-year-old Jaquad Malik Pearson, dead at the scene.
On Friday, Jan. 24, CMPD announced that Demetrius Kavon Adams, 18, and a juvenile were both arrested and charged with murder in connection with Pearson’s death.
According to jail and court records, on Friday a judge ruled that Adams would be held without bond. His next court appearance is Thursday, Feb. 13.
