Authorities have identified 17-year-old Solomon Henderson as the suspect in the shooting at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee.
According to reports, Henderson live-streamed himself brandishing a firearm shortly before carrying out the attack in the school cafeteria. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday morning, claimed the life of one female student and left two others injured.
The deceased student has been identified as Josselin Corea Escalante. Another female student suffered a gunshot wound to her arm, while a male student sustained a facial injury, though it was not caused by a gunshot. Henderson ended his own life at the scene.
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) confirmed that the attack was premeditated. Investigators discovered evidence suggesting the suspect had planned the shooting in advance. Witnesses and students reported seeing names inscribed on ammunition magazines, and authorities are examining Henderson’s suspicious online activity.
MNPD also revealed details of a manifesto written by Henderson titled “The West Has Fallen – Billions Must Die – Accelerate.” The document contained extremist views and references to his alleged radicalization through online influences, including content from certain YouTubers.
Law enforcement responded quickly to secure the school and ensure the safety of students and staff. A reunification site has been set up at 3754 Murfreesboro Pike, with buses arranged to transport students to the location.
Metro Nashville Public Schools confirmed the school’s lockdown and reassured families that the investigation is being handled by law enforcement. Officials have promised to provide updates as more information becomes available.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting in the ongoing investigation.
