LENOIR, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police are investigating in Lenoir after being notified of human remains behind a shutdown mall.
According to the police department, officers were alerted about the remains in the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 21, behind the Lenoir Mall shopping center at 1023 Morganton Blvd.

Law enforcement began investigating the scene and continued searching Wednesday morning during the daylight to ensure a thorough examination.
The remains have not been identified nor was a suspect or the cause of the death. Anyone with information should contact the department at 828-727-2100 or crime stoppers at 828-758-8300.
