NORTH CAROLINA (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The coastal storm that brought record snow to portions of the Gulf Coast helped make the Central Carolinas look at lot more like winter Tuesday night.
While we didn’t nearly the snow totals that even the low country of South Carolina saw, we did see enough to cause some travel disruptions Wednesday morning.
Generally, snow totals across the region were minimal at best with the highest amount seen down in the Sandhills with nearly two inches observed near Cheraw and 1.2 inches in Wadesboro.
These snow totals pale in comparison to what was seen farther south and east along the Carolina coast as well as the Gulf Coast.
In the Carolinas nearly seven inches fell in Conway, SC, and farther south along the Gulf Coast, over thirteen inches fell near Lafayette, LA with several all-time snow record being broken.
