Alexander Whalen Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost his life has been confirmed as 29-year-old Alexander Whalen. The Accident Reconstruction team is currently examining a tragic wrong-way collision that occurred at approximately 1:45 a.m. on January 17 on westbound I-64 near Jefferson.
Initial findings indicate that a Dodge Ram was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-64 for reasons yet to be determined when it collided with a Honda Accord in the vicinity of Jefferson. This impact subsequently led to one of the vehicles striking a third vehicle, a Toyota Camry.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene and transported the driver of the Dodge Ram, a 22-year-old male, to the hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the Honda Accord, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota Camry, a 41-year-old male, sustained no injuries.
The investigation is still in progress. Further information regarding the identity of the deceased driver will be released once the identification process is finalized.
