INDIAN LAND, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Multiple agencies worked to rescue an injured person from a 92-foot water tower in Indian Land, officials say.
The incident occurred at 10026 Harrisburg Road, where crews were called for a high-angle rescue around 4:12 p.m. Tuesday.
Indian Land Fire Department responded and discovered a person working on the water tower had sustained a leg injury at the top of the tower.
Charlotte Fire Department responded with their high-angle box along with the Pineville Fire Department. Two Indian Land firefighters climbed the tower and administered aid to the person.
Once Charlotte Fire was on the scene, they began setting up a rope rigging system to lower the person to the ground.
Lancaster County officials say the person was on the ground by 6:08 p.m. and transported to Atrium Main for treatment.
