CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte city leaders have approved funding for the Charlotte Department of Transportation to install a traffic signal at an intersection that’s become known for vehicle crashes.
In a unanimous decision from Charlotte council members on Monday, the city will allocate $214,000 for the traffic signal on East W.T. Harris Boulevard at University Ridge/Rose Heather Court to improve safety for vehicles.
The N.C. Department of Transportation conducted an evaluation of crashes at the intersection, which revealed a pattern of left-turning crashes from W.T. Harris onto the side streets.
