ROCK HILL, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person has died after being struck while trying to cross Interstate 77 in Rock Hill early Sunday morning, officials say.
South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to I-77 near mile marker 78 around 4:03 a.m. in reference to a crash involving a pedestrian.
Officials say a 2025 BMW SUV was traveling north as the pedestrian attempted to walk across the northbound lanes. The pedestrian was struck and died at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by SCHP.
