The victims of a triple homicide that took place in Pitt County on Friday have been named by the authorities.
According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, two residents of Peace Ridge Court, Anthony Gribble, 80, and his wife, Paula Gribble, 76, were shot and killed. The 64-year-old Enrique Reyes of Forest Acres Drive has been identified as the third victim.
Detectives from the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office began looking into four different crime scenes on Friday. Two of these addresses match the victims’ homes on Forest Acres Drive and Peace Ridge Court. All three individuals were found dead from gunshot wounds during the course of the inquiry.
David Lever, a 55-year-old resident of Greenville, was apprehended and taken into custody at one of the crime scenes. He faces three open counts of murder and is currently held at the Pitt County Detention Center without bond. Lever, who is reported to reside on Forest Acres Drive, like Reyes, is a real estate broker. Further charges may be forthcoming.
Officials say that preliminary findings from interviews and material acquired at each place point to a connection between the crime locations; however, they caution that the investigation is still ongoing.
