A beloved, fellow toy shop owner has passed, Aaron Detrick, owner of ROMA Collectibles. He was a kind, good man. Everyone in the vintage toy shops & shows worlds liked him.
Folks, it’s the post that I wish I didn’t have to write.
Earlier this afternoon, we lost our friend Aaron Detrick, who so many of us came to know as the main man at ROMA Collectibles, as his battle with cancer ended in an unfortunate draw.
Our deepest condolences go to his wife Sara, cousin Kenny, and his entire family. We love you, brother. #ROMA4Life
A hard day today. I shared a post a couple times last year about a toy auction fund raisers for my friend Aaron Detrick who was fighting cancer. The fight came to an end yesterday. Aaron was a giant among the toy collectiing community and I am forever grateful that this hobby brought me a great friend. I have rarely known a nicer human being and all around good guy. Please pray for his family and wife Sara. 44 is too young to be gone. Thank you for your friendship brother. I will think of you and miss you forever, another facebook post said.
Our hearts go out to the ROMA Collectibles family after the passing of an incredible man, Aaron Detrick. After countless visits to the store and talks at the counter, it is easy for us to see Aaron was the selfless individual who truly loved the toy and comic community.
Put simply- we wouldn’t have toy shows if it wasn’t for Aaron. He was always there to lend a helping hand and give his valueable insights. We’ll miss him greatly but are rested knowing Aaron has left behind an amazing legacy both in our industry, our city, and our hearts.
