NEWLAND, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — In anticipation of the cold weather and possible related issues this week — Avery County says it has a plan if the power should go out.
Lows could reach the single digits in the coming days.
No details were released, but residents of the High Country community are urged to call the government phone number. Officials recommend having a backup heat source, all required medication and run water in your home to the size of a pencil to avoid freezing pipes.
