CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — One lane on each side of Fairview Road in south Charlotte is closed due to a water main break, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
The closure was reported around 7 a.m. on Tuesday at Carmel Road. Drivers in the area are encouraged to find alternate routes.
Officials believe there is also black ice in the area caused by the cold temperatures and the water main break.
According to Charlotte Water, the repair will take 4-6 hours.
