A Vietnamese father died by suicide after shooting and killing his entire family at their residence in Milpitas, California. 36-year-old Vinh Quang Nguyen passed away in an apparent suicide after fatally shooting his wife 36-year-old Chau Bao “Becky” Pham and their two children ( a 9-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter) before turning the gun on himself.
The deadly incident happened at their home in Turing at the Fields on McCandless Blvd. On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 8:52 p.m., Milpitas Police officers were dispatched to the Turing Apartments at 1355 McCandless Drive to conduct a welfare check after family members had not heard from their loved ones for several days. Officers were able to gain access to the apartment and located Vinh Nguyen, Betty Pham, and their two children, ages 9 and 4, deceased inside, according to Milpitas Police Department.
All appeared to have a single gunshot wound. Nguyen has been identified as the suspect responsible. A handgun, which was legally registered to him, was found at the scene. The family were past residents of San Jose, California and the man was a former employee of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority – Mass transportation system.
