GASTONIA, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A young teen has been charged after a 16-year-old girl was tragically shot and killed on Christmas Eve, Gastonia Police announced.
Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 11 a.m. near 800 Barkley Street. A 16-year-old girl was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, Gastonia Police and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested a 14-year-old in connection with the shooting. The teen is charged with second-degree murder.
