IREDELL COUNTY, (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 37-year-old man has been arrested on a slew of charges including admitting to stealing a van from a church in Mooresville, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, Dec. 26, deputies went to arrest Joshua Andrew Moore, 37, at 1470 Coddle Creek Highway for outstanding felony warrants. When they arrived, they saw someone looking out the window who eventually said Moore was inside.
Officials say deputies cleared the house and found Moore. During the arrest, deputies found fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia in the house.
A deputy recalled information regarding Moore’s involvement in a stolen van from a Mooresville church. After questioning him, Moore said the van was hidden in the woods near Timber Road. Deputies from the Agressive Criminal Enforcemnt Team found it spray-painted black in the woods.
While he was being escorted to a patrol car, he also confessed to stealing a black Ford truck that was in the driveway. Deputies confirmed with records that it was stolen from Mecklenburg County.

Arrest records show Moore was booked into the Iredell County Sheriff’s under a $192,500 bond for charges including:
- Felony Failure to Report New Address as a Sex Offender
- Sex Offender Residence Violation (Within 1,000 Feet of a School)
- Two Counts of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
- Felony Possession of Fentanyl
- Felony Possession of Crack Cocaine
- Two Counts of Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
- Two Counts of Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor Injury to Personal Property
- Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods
