CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An alleged armed robber is dead after being shot and killed by a store clerk, Chesterfield County deputies say.
On Saturday, officials were called to a tobacco and vape shop off Highway 9 at Mustang Lane in Pageland.
Authorities on the scene called the incident a “robbery gone bad” and said the clerk acted in self-defense.
There’s no word yet on the identity of the person who was killed.
Queen City News has reached out to the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for more information but hasn’t heard back.
