Due to their chemistry, Patrick Christys and his wife, Emily Carver, have been among the most adored television couples. With their recent collaboration on Boxing Day morning, viewers couldn’t help but praise their bonding.
Patrick Christys began his career a decade ago as a reporter for The Westmorland Gazette in Kendal, Cumbria. However, he had no clue that he would meet his life partner over the course of his career.
Further, Patrick Christys joined GB News in 2021 and crossed paths with his now-wife, Emily Carver. The reporter initially presented To The Point but was later appointed for the 9 pm Tonight Show.

Previously, Carver joined the industry as an executive assistant at The Henry Jackson Society. She later became part of Edelman’s Graduate Scheme and worked there for over a year.
Following such experiences, she became a policy advisor and parliamentary researcher for the House of Commons. Later, Carver worked as head of media and columnist before joining the GB News.
Christys’ wife began her journey at the network as a part-time presenter and commentator before landing a post beside her husband. Last year, Connor Bragger produced GB News’ Christmas Breakfast program with the duo.

The program ran for over 5 hours and was viewers’ favorite as they requested Christys to bring it back this year. Soon after the program, the pair announced their engagement and 2024 marriage plans.
Additionally, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony and took a break from reporting for a honeymoon trip. Regardless, they promised their viewers new programs in years to come.
Patrick Christys is a recovering alcoholic, turning his life around for his family!
Before his bonding with Carver, Christys struggled with alcohol addiction and led a double life away from the spotlight. He had become a household name while secretly drinking every day after work.
During an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, the reporter came clean about his history. He added he was capable of downing multiple bottles of wine with almost daily appearances on live TV.
Moreover, Christys claimed that he leaned into the habit without a particular reason. The reporter didn’t have any childhood trauma or dark secret, which is present in most of the alcoholics.
The 32-year-old described that his Maidenhead one-bedroom flat was ‘like a crack den,’ as he often spiraled into drinking at home. He never visited pubs with colleagues due to fear of being spotted.
However, the habit had taken dangerous turns on Christys’ health as he began gaining weight and lost his four stones. He started sulking at work but never mentioned his alcoholic patterns to his supervisors.
Before moving in with Carver, who lived with her parents at the time, the reporter had never thought about being sober. When asked about his dissociation, he would often lie to Carver and her parents.
But as the alcohol started working its way, Christys began slurring his words and falling off his chairs. Carver made it clear that she couldn’t spend the rest of her life with such an addict.
Similarly, Christys joined the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step rehabilitation program. The reporter claimed that going through the addiction and having the support of his wife made him a better person.
