Fatal Franklin crash death of Monica Marisa Herrera – Obituary
Monica Marisa Herrera, 23, of Preston, tragically passed away in a chain-reaction crash on December 12, 2024, in Franklin.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 91 at Legacy Drive. According to Idaho State Police, the driver of a 2006 Mazda Tribute, a 77-year-old man from Logan, Utah, stopped and began reversing in the road, causing a sequence of events that led to a collision.
The 1999 Dodge Ram, driven by a 20-year-old man, swerved to avoid the 2021 Dodge Ram and ultimately collided head-on with Herrera’s 2018 Jeep Renegade.
Herrera, who was wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles were not seriously injured.
