Peter Sorochinski Obituary, Death; – State police have identified the individual who lost his life after being struck by multiple vehicles on Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia. Peter Sorochinski, a resident of Levittown in Bucks County, was hit in the southbound lanes near the Market Street on-ramp shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
As reported by state police, Sorochinski had previously been involved in a single-vehicle accident and was believed to have sustained a head injury. A motorist passing by stopped to assist and contacted the authorities.
This motorist informed the police that Sorochinski made a phone call, and immediately after ending the call, he unexpectedly stepped into the right lane of southbound traffic. He was subsequently struck by a silver sedan of unknown make and model, whose driver fled the scene. Authorities are seeking to speak with this driver.
Following the initial impact, Sorochinski was hit by two more vehicles, whose drivers remained at the scene. He was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for approximately seven hours in that area.
