Dr Hamid Mirshojae Obituary, Death; – One of the two individuals charged with the murder of a Woodland Hills physician, believed by authorities to be part of a murder-for-hire scheme, is scheduled to be arraigned. Sarallah Jawed, aged 26, is anticipated to appear before a judge at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday morning. He was apprehended by police on Wednesday.
This development follows the arrest of the victim’s ex-wife and another individual on Thursday in relation to the homicide. In the case of Dr. Hamid Mirshojae, aged 61, he was shot and killed after leaving his medical practice located in the 5900 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard on August 23, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
His ex-wife, 53-year-old Ahang Mirshojae, was taken into custody on Thursday and booked on suspicion of murder, with her arrest occurring around 10:45 a.m., according to jail records. Jawed, along with two other suspects, Evan Hardman and Ashley Rose Sweeting, has been formally charged in this matter.
Additionally, police arrested 46-year-old Shawn Randolph, a resident of Valley Village, on suspicion of murder on Thursday. The LAPD stated, “The investigation revealed that these five individuals conspired to commit murder, leading to the ambush and eventual death of Dr. Mirshojae.”
Hardman, 41, from Tomball, Texas, and Jawed are alleged to have executed the killing for financial motives, as indicated in a complaint. They are also charged with assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an alleged attack on Dr. Mirshojae involving a baseball bat on May 3.
Sweeting, 40, from Reseda, entered a not guilty plea on Thursday to a charge of being an accessory after the fact, as she is accused of transporting the shooter to and from the scene of the crime.
On Thursday, LAPD investigators conducted a raid at a Calabasas residence associated with Mirshojae’s ex-wife. Aerial footage captured officers entering and exiting the home on Newcastle Lane.
No specific details regarding the allege roles of Ahang Mirshojae and Randolph in the murder have been disclosed. Both individuals are being held without bail while awaiting further information on criminal charges.
