Diellon Daniels Obituary, Death; – One individual has been apprehended, yet inquiries persist regarding a shooting incident that resulted in the death of an 8-year-old boy and injuries to two of his siblings on Swan Avenue.
The Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) has scheduled a press conference for 10 a.m. on Friday, December 13, during which officials will provide further details concerning the shooting on Swan Avenue. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27, in the 1000 block of Swan Avenue, near Scenic Highway.
As reported by BRPD, Diellon Daniels, aged 8, lost his life when the vehicle he was traveling in with his family was struck by gunfire and subsequently crashed. His two brothers sustained injuries, while their pregnant mother remained unharmed.
Authorities have characterized the shooting as a “targeted attack.” BRPD has stated that Kendrick Profit, 22, was arrested on Tuesday, December 10, facing multiple charges related to the incident, including first-degree murder and five counts of attempted first-degree murder.
Erica Rayford, the grandmother of Daniels, indicated that Profit was familiar to her family, having visited her home and referred to her as “Auntie.” She identified him as the father of her niece’s child. Funeral services for Diellon Daniels are scheduled for Saturday, December 14, at Shekinah Glory Christian Center located on Greenwell Springs Road.
