Anthony Hall Obituary, Death; – The Tuolumne County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who sadly lost his life in the fire that occurred on Monday evening at the Columbia Mobile Home Park located on Parrotts Ferry Road. The deceased has been identified as 63-year-old Anthony Hall.
The incident took place around 10 PM, and another resident of the home was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for serious injuries. As a precautionary measure, several neighboring residences were evacuated; however, firefighters successfully contained the blaze to a single structure.
According to the Tuolumne County Fire Department, the fire was deemed “accidental.” The investigation revealed that one of the occupants was adjusting a log in the fireplace when burning material escaped, igniting nearby items. The California Fire Code Section 308.1.4 stipulates that flammable materials must be maintained at least 36 inches away from a fireplace. This guideline serves as a general safety measure to mitigate fire risks, ensuring that materials in proximity to the fireplace do not ignite from heat or sparks.
