Malik Lee Obituary, Death; – A mother from Takoma Park is grieving the tragic loss of her son, 25-year-old Malik Lee, who was fatally stabbed.
“I seek closure; this is something we do not deserve,” stated Althea Lee, Malik’s mother. “My son did not deserve this. He was an exceptional young man.” As reported by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Malik was discovered in an alley on the 1700 block of Columbia Road in Northwest D.C. on Sunday, December 8, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Despite extensive life-saving measures, authorities confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital. The motive behind the stabbing and the identity of those involved remain unclear.
“He had a passion for basketball and accumulated numerous trophies. He was an honor roll student—everything a parent could wish for,” his mother reminisced. Althea emphasized that learning and compassion were core principles in Malik’s life. She portrayed him as a devoted educator who took great joy in mentoring young minds.
“Malik had a deep love for children. He worked with kids during high school, and his first job was in an aftercare program, where he looked after children until their parents arrived,” she recounted. Now, her family is in pursuit of justice and is appealing to anyone with information to step forward.
“Malik is no longer with us, and we are in need of closure. He did not deserve this. It is incredibly difficult for us,” she conveyed. The investigation is still active. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact 202-727-9099 or send a text to MPD’s Tip Line at 50411.
