Marvin Voigt Obituary, Death; – A man in Florida is accused of murdering his father and severely injuring his mother due to his frustration over his father’s insistence that he reduce his video game usage and seek employment.

As reported in a press release, authorities revealed that 58-year-old Susan Voigt contacted the police around 11:20 p.m., stating that she and her husband, 63-year-old Marvin Voigt, had been shot by their 23-year-old son, Joseph Voigt. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered Marvin Voigt deceased in the driveway from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Inside the residence, officers found Susan Voigt with a critical gunshot wound to the head.

informed the authorities that her son had fled the scene following the incident. After the suspect’s escape, a BOLO was issued for Polk County and the neighboring areas. Law enforcement eventually located Joseph Voigt’s vehicle and took him into custody.

During questioning, Joseph allegedly confessed to shooting both of his parents, stating that his father had been frustrated with him for spending excessive time on video games and pressuring him to improve his life by finding a job. Joseph has been charged with murder and attempted murder. His criminal record includes previous arrests for discharging a firearm in a residential area and battery.
