Jose Arias Barrientos Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified a construction worker who tragically lost his life over the weekend after being struck by a truck operated by a fellow worker in the city of Bell.
The incident occurred just before 3 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Gage and Heliotrope avenues, where the victim was engaged in welding activities in the street. According to Bell police Sgt. Johnnie Walker, the worker succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
On Monday, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed the identity of the deceased as 57-year-old Jose Arias Barrientos from Los Angeles.
The co-worker who was driving the truck remained at the location and cooperated with investigators before being released, as stated by Walker. Preliminary assessments suggest that the incident was accidental. Additionally, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health has initiated an investigation at the site, as noted by Walker.
