Will Rothschild Obituary, Death; – A reclusive member of the affluent Rothschild family tragically lost his life on Wednesday due to a fire that ravaged his residence in Hollywood Hills.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to the incident in the afternoon, deploying 45 firefighters who managed to extinguish the flames within approximately 33 minutes, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. Upon investigation, officials discovered a deceased individual within the home, later identified as Will Rothschild, according to KABC.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the L.A. County Medical Examiner has yet to establish the cause of death. The news of Rothschild’s passing has left neighbors in the upscale community in disbelief, with some expressing to KABC that he led a rather solitary existence.
“It is very sad,” remarked neighbor Jim Moore to the station. “He was a good guy. A good neighbor.” Another neighbor shared with the Times that Rothschild was amiable and took pride in his Yale education, often doting on his Afghan hound.
“The guy was attached to his dog,” Dana Gladstone told the Times. “I knew him as Will.” Despite his reclusive nature, Rothschild did display some of his wealth, as noted by KABC. Neighbors reported that he owned multiple properties and a collection of high-end vintage automobiles.
The Rothschild family amassed its wealth during the 18th and 19th centuries through banking ventures in Europe, once regarded as possessing the largest private fortune globally. Today, their interests encompass finance, politics, real estate, and energy.
