Jameisha Wilkes Obituary, Death; – New and troubling revelations in a Charlotte murder case from earlier this month have emerged, indicating that the female victim, who was shot and killed during an attempted robbery, was pregnant at the time of her death, as announced by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police on Thursday.
Officers arrived at the scene following reports of the incident around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13th, near 5400 Strive Street in north Charlotte. The victim, 33-year-old Jameisha Wilkes, was discovered with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the location.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Dasean Maddox, was apprehended in Cabarrus County and faces charges of murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Subsequent investigations revealed that Wilkes was pregnant, leading to an additional charge against Maddox for the murder of an unborn child. He is also accused of stealing Wilkes’ cell phone during the incident and is currently being held without bond in Mecklenburg County.
The case is under the jurisdiction of a grand jury, as determined by the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office on Monday. Various departments, including operations command, CSI, victim services, Medic, and CFD, responded to the scene. Detective Trietley is leading the investigation.
