Hwarang Joo Obituary, Death; – Nashville authorities apprehended a 17-year-old and are actively pursuing his twin brother following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of an Antioch restaurant owner.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Bell Road around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, where they discovered Hwarang Joo, 39, deceased from a gunshot wound to the head. Joo, the proprietor of Hot Stuff Chicken, was exiting the restaurant when gunfire erupted in the parking area. According to police reports, Joo sustained a lethal gunshot wound, causing his vehicle to accelerate and crash into the side of a building occupied by Cane Ridge Dentist.
Two days post-incident, law enforcement released images of the two suspects along with a silver Ford Taurus, which had a rust spot above the windshield and front-end damage, utilized by the individuals. On Thursday evening, authorities announced the arrest of one suspect. The identity of the teenager has not been disclosed, as he has not been charged as an adult.
Authorities indicated that it appears the two brothers employed “an AR-style rifle” to fire at individuals in a Dodge Charger across the parking lot at the moment Joo encountered them. All individuals involved fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Police have since located and interviewed occupants of the Charger.
The apprehended brother faces charges of criminal homicide and three counts of attempted criminal homicide, while warrants have been issued for the other brother on similar charges.
