Makell Rhinehart Chillicothe, Ohio Car Accident: 18-Year-Old Dies after Accident on Interstate-71 in Clinton County
A tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 near US 68 in Clinton County claimed the life of an 18-year-old passenger on Tuesday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP). The collision occurred around 6 p.m., prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Authorities reported that a Subaru Legacy traveling southbound collided with a Ram pickup truck moving in the same direction. The force of the collision caused the Subaru to veer into the median, while the pickup truck ended up in the right lane.
The passenger in the Subaru, identified as Makell Rhinehart, 18, was rushed to Clinton Memorial Hospital but sadly succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Subaru also sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, no one in the pickup truck was injured.
The OSP was supported at the crash site by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Fire and EMS, and Port William EMS. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.
